One of the most useful features of Eclipse is the recommendation of methods, variables etc with the use of keyboard shortcuts. So, when you press the shortcut in your keyboard, all the available methods in the API appear as a list and you can select one of your choice.

However in the versions for Mac OS the default shortcut is not very convenient as in windows (ctrl + space). In order to change this or any other shortcut you should do the following:
1. Go to the menu Eclipse -> preferences
2. On the preferences panel select from General, the Keys tab. In this tab you can customise all the keyboard shortcuts
3. The shortcut for recommendations is called “Content Assist”. In order to change the default shortcut, select it from the list and on the Binding field write the combination of your preference as it is shown in the following picture

Oh yes, επέστρεψα με νέο domain – καταδικό μου. Το mikroblogging version 1.0 πέθανε λίγο πρίν χρονίσει, ή για την ακρίβεια μου το σκότωσε η bitchy η Google γιατί τα ρομποτάκια της λέει το κρίνανε spam blog και δε μπήκαν στην διαδικασία να δουν αν αυτό πράγματι ισχύει. Ακολουθεί εκτενέστατη περιγραφή του τι συνέβη και έκλεισε, με παράλληλο θάψιμο της Google, γιατί είναι και Χριστούγεννα, είμαστε σε ατμόσφαιρα καλοσύνης και βαριόμαστε.
Η αλήθεια είναι ότι έτρεχα μερικά scriptakia, αλλά όχι με κακό σκοπό και είχα γράψει μία εντολή να μην εμφανίζεται το απαίσιο navbar της Google (bitch) στο επάνω μέρος του blog, το οποίο ανακάλυψα πρόσφατα ότι είναι λίγο παράνομο 
. Τέλος πάντων, το αποτέλεσμα είναι ότι μου το κλείσανε, και τώρα όταν πάει να το επισκεφτεί κάποιος βγαίνει ένα φοβερό μήνυμα σε κόκκινο πλαίσιο που λέει ότι άμα συνεχίσεις, το πρώην blog μου θα γεμίσει 800 ιούς το pc σου (γιατί οι mac δε κολλάνε) που θα σου σβήσουν τα αρχεία και θα μασήσουν όσα απομείνουν, μετά το pc θα κολλήσει ιούς τα υπόλοιπα pc της γειτονιάς που είναι σε δίκτυο και στη συνέχεια όλα μαζί θα βγάλουν καπνούς και πόδια και θα φουντάρουν από το παράθυρο. Καλά δε τα λέει και έτσι ακριβώς, το νόημα όμως αυτό είναι….
Και όλα αυτά έγιναν πίσω από την πλάτη μου. Ούτε ένα ταπεινό mail δε μπήκαν στον κόπο να μου στείλουν. Πάω να μπώ και εγώ μια μέρα να σκουπίσω τις αράχνες από τις γωνίες και να γράψω και ένα post ήρθαν τα Χριστούγεννα, επιτέλους διακοπές (γιατί συνήθως από σε διακοπές σε διακοπές κάνω post) και βλέπω το μήνυμα κίνδυνος-θάνατος και απαγορεύεται η είσοδος στο μίασμα του internet…. Παθαίνω 3 εγκεφαλικά και κάνω request να επανεξετασθεί η κατάσταση μου και το blogaki να γίνει restore. Μου βγάζει και ένα μήνυμα ότι το ελέγχουν και να περιμένω. Την πρώτη μέρα δεν είδα τίποτα. Την δεύτερη μέρα δεν είδα τίποτα. Την τρίτη μέρα δεν είδα τίποτα. Μετά από μία βδομάδα, το blogaki μου ξαναπήρε το αρχικό status του spam blog. Εν τω μεταξύ, επειδή το url αυτό το έχω βάλει και στο twitter μου, μου έρχεται και ένα μήνυμα του στυλ “ένα πουλάκι μας μας είπε ότι το προφίλ σου έχει ύποπτα links και πρόσεχε λιγάκι next time”. Όλα αυτά τα προκάλεσε το αθώο μου blogaki. Τσαντίστηκα τότε και εγώ και έκανα παράπονα όπου έβρισκα σε άσχετα σημεία, γιατί η blogger σαν service δεν έχει κάποιο email ή contact για να πρήζεις συγκεκριμένους, αλλά ένα γενικό forum. Στο τέλος απείλησα ότι θα τους παρατήσω και θα πάω στο wordpress αλλά δε φάνηκε να συγκινήθηκαν κιόλας.
Τότε και εγώ αποφάσισα να ανοίξω δικό μου domain για να τρέχω ότι θέλω και όπως το θέλω. Και διάλεξα την JustHost εταιρία λόγω πολύ καλών κριτικών, τιμής και πακέτων. Και μετά από πολλά emails, γεννήθηκε ετούτο το bloggaki. Πιστεύω να έχει καλύτερη μοίρα από το προηγούμενο. Ένα πάντως είναι σίγουρο: ότι και να γίνει πάντα θα βρίσκω τρόπο να δημιουργώ ένα trash blog…. Καλή αρχή λοιπόν (με ένα post παραλήρημα, ουφ)!!
.Όχι ότι το άνοιξα και πολύ το αραχνιασμένο μου μπλογκάκι τους προηγούμενους μήνες, αλλά τώρα επιτέλους έφτασε η περίοδος καλοκαιρινών διακοπών, οπότε κλείνει και επίσημα…
Επιστροφή τον Σεπτέμβρη, με περισσότερα posts, αλλιώς θα του βάλω λουκετάκι (όσο μεγάλη καταστροφή και αν είναι αυτή για το Internet )!
Καλές διακοπές λοιπόν! Σπλααααασσσσσ!!
Είμαι πολύ περήφανη που το ελληνικό στοιχείο δεσπόζει ακόμα και στο μακρινό Leeds της Αγγλίας…

Recently, I had to install from the beginning the whole Microsoft Office in my MacBook because I messed up with the Normal.dotm and then my office couldn’t work with the EndNote. Now that I’ve learnt a lesson, I would like to give some general advice.
1. First of all, DO NOT create a new Normal.dotm from a blank document and replace your default Normal.dotm document. This might have worked with previous versions of the Word but it doesn’t seem to work with office 2008 (at least in my laptop). That was my mistake the first time and the result was disaster! The word couldn’t communicate with the Endnote X2, so I couldn’t add and edit any reference. Damn you Microsoft!
2. If you want to edit the Normal.dotm, DO NOT open it directly from its location. Usually, the Normal.dotm is placed in /users/your_username/ Library/ Applications/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates/Normal.dotm. If you open it directly from that location the office will open a new blank document, so whatever changes you make, the normal file will not be affected.
One correct way to edit your Normal is the following:
Open the Microsoft Word and then go to the Menu: File->Open… browse for the Normal.dotm and open it. The file opens with the name Normal.dotm so the changes you make will be saved there.
Modify the Normal and then just press the save button. Voila, the next time you open a new blank document in Word, it will have the desired template.
If you just want to edit the fonts, size, paragraph and these changes to be saved in the default format, you can follow this alternative path:
In a blank document press the button for the toolbox (Formating Pallete) to appear. Then you can edit any Style by selecting Modify Style.. (this option is in the drop down menu of each style) . In the window that appears make the changes you want and don’t forget to check the box that says “Add to template”. Then the changes will be automatically saved in your Normal.dotm.
However, if you want to add page numbers, default header etc in your template you’ll have to go with the first way.
